Become a Community Forester and Bring Trees to Your Neighborhood

Do you want more trees in your neighborhood? Does your block need a cooling dose of shade? Do you want to learn first hand how you can take a leadership role in your community? Become a Community Forester today!

Here at TreePeople, the belief that each and every one of us has the power to change the world in wonderful and profound ways impacts everything that we do. That is why we’re bringing back our Community Forester program to help empower people across Southern California to plant a greener future for their communities. Furthermore, by becoming a Community Forester you will learn from our experts how to engage your community and plan your very own planting events. Our staff will share their years of experience of urban forestry and community engagement with you and offer you the tools and support to bring the promise of cooling shade and fresh air to your neighborhood and put your green dreams into action.

TreePeople’s Community Forester Training is a four-session course for those interested in taking on a leadership role to implement a tree planting project in their community. It provides the step-by-step details including how to choose the right tree for the right place, bring together resources, as well as how to plan, recruit for and run a tree planting event. Our goal is to create climate-resilient neighborhoods throughout Southern California and share our process as a model for the world.

The deadline to apply to secure your spot in this exciting program is October 5, 2021. Online classes will begin on October 19, 2021 and planting events will take place in early 2022. Space is limited. Act quickly to reserve your spot!
