Holiday Tree Dedications

Spread holiday cheer with a gift that grows!

FAQ

Our Tree Dedications are symbolic, and go to fund all of the trees that we plant and care for year-round in our various environmental efforts. From reforestation work to planning for fire prevention, your contribution is a holistic way to nurture our forests from the roots up. Many thousands of trees are now thriving throughout Southern California because of people like you who chose to acknowledge someone with a meaningful Tree Dedication gift!

Digital Tree Dedications Cards send a digital card via email to the recipient of your choice. A digital file including the beautiful card art will be included. Mailed Tree Dedication Cards send a paper card to the recipient mailing address of your choice. A lovely 4.5x6.25” card of your choosing will be mailed via USPS. Both options are a great way to let someone know you are thinking of them while supporting our tree planting efforts all year long.

Donations given through Tree Dedications support our mountain forest restoration and urban greening work throughout Southern California. Due to the holistic nature we take to tree planting and long-term tree care, we are unable to tag or plaque trees, or specify where a tree will be planted for each dedication. Instead, these powerful donations work to fund all of the trees we plant year-round.

We invite you to visit our hilltop Coldwater Canyon park, where you can think of any one of the beautiful trees here as representative of your dedication.

We partner with a local print shop and are proud to say all Tree Dedication cards are printed on 100% recycled paper.

Whether it is a 15-gallon tree with stakes and ties planted on an urban street, or a young oak seedling planted within a gopher cage in our local mountains, the cost per tree is difficult to quantify. Costs include more than just the tree, they could include permits, tools and trucks, concrete cuts, materials, and the staff time to ensure that trees get the care they need for the next 3-5 years — all with the goal of healthy, thriving trees!

TreePeople accepts online payments via credit card, PayPal, and bank transfer. Please note that we do not send out Tree Dedications until payment is received and processed. If you would like assistance with processing your payment, please contact treegifts@treepeople.org or give us a call at (818) 753-8773

Yes! If you would like to honor a loved one with a larger contribution, sponsoring a tree in our Cinader Grove may be the right fit. Our Cinader Grove is a planting of 600 trees that will line the popular Betty B. Dearing Trail at the TreePeople park. Included with your sponsorship of a tree is a personal plaque on our own dedication signage at the Grove which you can visit in person.

Our meaningful Tree and Bench Plaque Dedications mark a specific tree at our Coldwater Canyon Park. We also offer dedications of beautiful wooden benches that are placed around our park for loved ones to come visit, sit, and connect with nature.

Please contact treegifts@treepeople.org or (818) 753-8733 for more information or for assistance with making your donation.
