Take local action! Help transform your community with our handy downloadable resources. Together we can co-create a healthy urban forest that reduces energy use, improves water quality and boosts the overall health of well-being of all Angelenos.
Now is the time to be a role model. Stand up and dig in for a climate-ready L.A. one tree, one street, one neighborhood at a time.
Students and educators: Whether your vision is to plant more trees on your campus, or engage in a service learning project, we are here to support you. We know our younger generation are the champions for L.A.’s climate future and are often agents of change. Take the first steps toward healthier, shaded schools, as well as a myriad of other campus beautification projects, with our step-by-step downloadable toolkits and materials below.
We also offer field trips to our 45-acre headquarters, Coldwater Canyon Park! Learn more below or book one for your class today. BONUS: Los Angeles County secondary schools are eligible for a free bus for a field trip!
The MWD no longer offers sweeping incentives across the region, but there are still some municipalities that do! Click below to see if your city still offers turf removal rebates so you can replace it with native and climate-appropriate plants instead.
Did you know you can get free trees if you’re an L.A. City resident? City Plants (funded by the L.A. Department of Water and Power) offers free shade trees through this special program. Visit their website and have up to seven free trees for your yard delivered right to your door, or request a street tree to be planted in front of your home. Don’t forget to mention TreePeople when asked how you heard about the program!
