They are vital for our air and water quality, biodiversity and recreation. But fires, drought and pests have left our wildlands needing our help. But when you volunteer with TreePeople, you restore these damaged forests and ecosystems. Healthy landscapes help prevent fire danger caused by today’s climate extremes.
Santa Monica Mountains
We have a long history of restoration work in the Santa Monica Mountains from Griffith Park to Malibu. Be part of the legacy, and volunteer at our next event to help plant native plants and trees, water them through the hot Summer, harvest seeds and remove non-native vegetation to heal our wildlands.
Volunteer events occur nearly every weekend and all ages and skill levels are welcome-- no previous training is necessary.
Our wildlands are one of LA’s most critical resources for carbon sequestration, water capture and to clean our air. Step up to a leadership role as a Wildland Restoration Supervisor to be part of the vision to keep LA’s open spaces healthy, green and thriving!
As a “Super” you will ensure we meet the three work goals of our ecological restoration work: That the work is CORRECT, SAFE and FUN!
To become a Supervisor you must:
Attend at least two of our restoration events
Be at least 16-years-old
Attend a 3-hour training
“Shadow” our Supers at a following event.
Once you complete your “shadow” event you will receive an official TreePeople T-shirt and name badge.
*Agreement to supervise a minimum of three events after attaining Supervisor status is mandatory.
