Mountain Forestry
The mountains are the lungs of our city!
They are vital for our air and water quality, biodiversity and recreation. But fires, drought and pests have left our wildlands needing our help. But when you volunteer with TreePeople, you restore these damaged forests and ecosystems. Healthy landscapes help prevent fire danger caused by today’s climate extremes.
Santa Monica Mountains
We have a long history of restoration work in the Santa Monica Mountains from Griffith Park to Malibu. Be part of the legacy, and volunteer at our next event to help plant native plants and trees, water them through the hot Summer, harvest seeds and remove non-native vegetation to heal our wildlands.
Volunteer events occur nearly every weekend and all ages and skill levels are welcome-- no previous training is necessary.
Pre-registration for events is mandatory.
Looking to register a group for a volunteer event? Email volunteer@treepeople.org. If you’re a corporate group looking to make a difference, visit our Teams for Trees page to learn more about volunteer opportunities in the mountains.
