Community Forester

Community Forester

TreePeople’s Community Forester Program empowers individuals and community groups to plan and implement their own tree planting events. Utilizing hands-on/virtual training and support, our goal is to build teams of Community Foresters throughout the county to help create climate-resilient neighborhoods.

2021 Community Forester Training

Space is limited – first come, first served

We will support up to 10 project teams this season

This four-session Community Forester Training is for individuals/groups interested in taking on a leadership role to implement a tree planting project in their community.  It provides the step-by-step details on how to choose the right tree for the right place, bring together resources, plan, recruit community members, and run a tree planting event.

Sample Project ideas

  • Tree planting along neighborhood streets in the parkway space (between the sidewalk and street)
  • Replant trees in empty tree wells
  • Tree planting in a neighborhood park
  • Cut concrete to plant trees along neighborhood streets and business districts
