In a forest, when species work together, they thrive. For LA to thrive, organizations must work together to achieve true impact. We are lucky enough to connect with a number of powerful groups across many sectors. Here’s a snapshot of a few of those partners that we work with:
Cal Fire – The California Department of Fire and Forestry is a true leader in the field of Urban Forestry in California. In partnership with Cal Fire, we have planted and cared for hundreds and thousands of trees in LA, removed acres of hardscape, and trained hundreds of thousands of Angelenos to care for our urban spaces.
Council for Watershed Health – Scientific research and data analysis are fundamental elements, and the Council for Watershed Health is steeped in those skills among many others. We and the Council have worked closely together on important demonstration projects as well as defining key best management practices for the future of Los Angeles.
Heal the Bay – we have worked with Heal the Bay to create a more healthy and sustainable LA for almost 30 years. Together, we pursue innovative water education programs that can be used to inspire students throughout the city to take personal responsibility for the urban environment.
Social Justice Learning Institute – SJLI is an innovative organization based in Inglewood that works within the community and directly with individuals to solve fundamental issues that are at the heart of social justice. We have been working closely with SJLI for the past five years on efforts to curb environmental justice issues in Inglewood and Lennox.
