TreePeople began in 1973 when our founder, teenager (at the time) Andy Lipkis, decided to take a stand against environmental degradation in Los Angeles and around the world. Since then, TreePeople has planted almost 3 MILLION trees in both the mountain and urban forests in LA, and has worked toward creating a more equitable green city to combat the threats of climate change.
As the organization grew, TreePeople planted its roots in Coldwater Canyon Park over 40 years ago. This 45 acre Certified Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation, is open to visitors year-round and are welcome to walk our trails and enjoy the stunning views.
We invite you to test your knowledge about the park, which TreePeople maintains through donations made by visitors. Learn some fun facts about TreePeople and the park.
