What are some of Southern California’s other tree planting organizations?

To tap into the network of California tree groups we recommend visiting California Releaf.

If you’re searching for a tree group outside of the Los Angeles area, try contacting your city’s departments of parks or street trees to learn more about volunteer tree planting groups in your area.

Also, check with local chapters of national environmental organizations such as the Sierra Club, the Audubon Society, the Nature Conservancy or the Master Gardener Program. Be sure to ask if they know of tree planting projects going on in the area.

If your town doesn’t currently have any active tree groups, work with friends and neighbors to start your own team! The on-line edition of Andy and Kate Lipkis’s book, The Simple Act of Planting a Tree, is a great source of information on how to organize local tree events.
