For the past 10 years, TreePeople has developed and implemented solutions to our nation’s most troubling urban ecosystem challenges. We have completed several multi-year, multi-agency projects that address Southern California’s urgent flooding, pollution and drought problems. These solutions can be deployed at schools, parks and parking lots to help turn rainfall into a resource that saves money and our natural world.
Dedicating a tree helps heal Southern California's mountains by supporting the restoration of forests throughout the region. Hundreds of thousands of native trees owe their beginning to TreePeople's year-round Tree Dedication program. Single trees or a grove of five trees can be dedicated to mark a birth, passing, graduation, wedding or holiday.
Many inner-city kids never get the chance to enter a forest. TreePeople’s Eco-tours encourage children to discover the natural world around them through a hands-on, outdoor learning experience. Each year more than 10,000 schoolchildren from around L.A. County visit TreePeople’s headquarters in Coldwater Canyon Park, where the forest comes to life.
