Making Rainfall a Resource

For the past 10 years, TreePeople has developed and implemented solutions to our nation’s most troubling urban ecosystem challenges. We have completed several multi-year, multi-agency projects that address Southern California’s urgent flooding, pollution and drought problems. These solutions can be deployed at schools, parks and parking lots to help turn rainfall into a resource that saves money and our natural world.

Fruit Trees Combat Hunger

TreePeople’s Fruit Tree program has provided underserved communities in Los Angeles with free fruit trees for over 20 years. With annual giveaways in communities that include South Central Los Angeles and Sun Valley, this program provides food, hope and shade to people in need.

Tree Dedication Stories

Dedicating a tree helps heal Southern California's mountains by supporting the restoration of forests throughout the region. Hundreds of thousands of native trees owe their beginning to TreePeople's year-round Tree Dedication program. Single trees or a grove of five trees can be dedicated to mark a birth, passing, graduation, wedding or holiday.

Eco-Tours Stories

Many inner-city kids never get the chance to enter a forest. TreePeople’s Eco-tours encourage children to discover the natural world around them through a hands-on, outdoor learning experience. Each year more than 10,000 schoolchildren from around L.A. County visit TreePeople’s headquarters in Coldwater Canyon Park, where the forest comes to life.
