It’s never too early to introduce new generations to the wonders of trees and forests.

TreePeople’s programs for schools engage young people in Los Angeles to discover the science and significance of the urban forest, as they take part in protecting it.

Programs offered

Eco-tours (K-5th grade)

Every year, more than 10,000 elementary school students visit TreePeople’s headquarters in Coldwater Canyon Park to discover firsthand how important – and fun! – it is to nurture the urban forest. Our Eco-tour educators lead classes on hikes, where adventure and discovery await. More...

Generation Earth (6th-12th grade)

Generation Earth is an environmental education program for secondary students, presented by TreePeople on behalf of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works. The program equips middle and high school students with the training, resources and teacher support needed to carry out a variety of projects to heal the environment. More...

Campus Forestry (K-12th grade)

TreePeople partners with schools throughout L.A. to make their campuses cooler, healthier and more fun by replacing concrete and asphalt with beautiful trees. Campus Forestry is run through our Forestry program. Schools have the option to enrich the experience with a curriculum developed by our Environmental Education staff. More...
