Interested in reusing graywater?
According to the California Graywater Standards, graywater is untreated household waste water which has not come into contact with toilet waste.
Graywater includes: used water from bathtubs, showers, bathroom wash basins, and water from clothes-washing machines and laundry tubs. It does not include: waste water from kitchen sinks, dishwashers, toilets, or laundry water from soiled diapers.
While TreePeople fully supports the expanded use of graywater, we have not done work specifically in this area. However, here are some links to graywater resources:

- The City of Santa Monica’s Environmental Programs Division’s website has information on graywater.

- The Eco-Home Network provides a tour of an environmental demonstration home in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles that has a graywater system.
