N.E. Valley Call to Action

Citizen Foresters are stepping up to the challenge

As part of our large-scale community building and tree planting strategy for the Northeast San Fernando Valley, TreePeople has launched Community Greening Workshops to teach volunteers how to lead planting and tree care projects as Citizen Foresters. Learn more about our Citizen Forester program to decide if it’s right for you.

These efforts are helping to restore the urban forest in this damaged ecosystem.

We need other volunteer leaders!

In addition to Citizen Foresters, this community also needs:

1. Volunteer Supervisors:

We are looking for leaders to help supervise fellow community members at tree planting and tree care events in and around Sun Valley, Pacoima and surrounding areas. Join us at the next Community Greening Workshop. These FREE trainings teach you how to supervise and properly plant and care for trees. Once you have attended two events you will receive a TreePeople t-shirt and your own name badge. After that, we'll contact you to help supervise at events.

2. Outreach Volunteers:

If you live in the Northeast San Fernando Valley, love your community and care about the environment, you can help TreePeople spread the word about our community-based work in Sun Valley, Pacoima and surrounding areas. Outreach volunteers attend special community events and festivals and share information about TreePeople's programs and opportunities to get involved. FREE training, a TreePeople T-shirt and a name badge will be provided!

Contact Pam Gibson at pgibson@treepeople.org or (310) 228-8430 for more information.

We need support volunteers, too!

Thousands of volunteers will be needed to achieve our goals for this community. If you would like to volunteer at a tree planting or tree care event consult our online calendar to learn about upcoming events.
