Moonlight Hikes

Hike our park under the moonlight!
Everything changes after dark – the trails, the trees, the entire park. Experience Coldwater Canyon in a whole new light with hikes led by TreePeople staff and volunteers.
Take in inspiring views of the San Fernando Valley, as the moon rises over coast live oaks and black walnut trees. Listen for owls. Absorb the peace, tranquility and beauty of the canyon trails after sunset.

Who can participate?
Everyone! Hikers have a choice of three energy levels: short/youth hike (lots of stops), medium hike (some stops); long hike (no stops!). These 45-minute long hikes are a fun way to meet new people, from seasoned park visitors to first-timers with babies in backpacks. Howling at the moon is optional but encouraged.
When and where do the hikes occur?
We lead hikes every full moon throughout the year in Coldwater Canyon Park, 12601 Mulholland Drive, Beverly Hills, 90210. Tours start from our Environmental Learning Center - adjacent to the Parking Grove.
How much does it cost to attend?
The hike is free for TreePeople members and up to three guests. Nonmembers pay $5 per hiker, payable onsite. If you would like to become a member, you can sign up at the hike; membership starts at $25.
Do you need to sign up?
Yes! Our Moonlight Hikes are very popular and space is limited. Sorry, due to parking limitations we can not accept walk-in registrations. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Contact moonlight@treepeople.org for more information or to RSVP.
What should you bring?
We suggest dressing in layers (it can get cold) and bringing along a flashlight and water. On Halloween, hikers are invited to wear costumes.
Please note: Moonlight Hikes are not suitable for pets.
