Does TreePeople use eco-friendly ink?
TreePeople’s goal is to have our publications printed with non-toxic inks and coatings to reduce the pollutants released into our environment through processing and disposal.
- Inks should be soy-based or vegetable-based and solvent-free.
- Inks should comply with CONEG requirements for levels of lead, mercury, cadmium and hexavalent chromium.
- Printers should comply with 92 percent solvent recovery of VOC’s (volatile organic compounds)
- Coatings, if used, should be aqueous, non-varnish or lacquer-based.
