Citizen Arborist Program
Is the health of the urban forest important to you?
Want to be a leader in your community through the planting and care of trees? Want to be part of a growing group of “experts” representing TreePeople to help grow a greener Los Angeles? If this sounds like you, take our highest level of training to become a TreePeople Citizen Arborist!
Citizen Arborists help support the work of TreePeople by organizing and running tree planting and/or tree care events in their community. They are required to complete a FREE 7- session training in tree science, identification, planting, pruning and basic tree care. The training includes how to get permits, organize an event in your community and work with volunteers. This includes a written exam and field test to become TreePeople certified.
Fun monthly events, designed just for the Citizen Arborist Team, are also offered to promote camaraderie and deeper learning.
