• LA River Award for a Public Employee or Group from the City Council that goes above and beyond standards in supporting the LA River, its watershed, and the principles of the Ac Hoc River Committee with vision, commitment, and action

• Education Award from the National Arbor Day Foundation

2002

• Spirit of the Land Award; the U.S. Winter Olympics honored TreePeople for its Schoolyard Explorers Program during the presentation at the Olympic Games in Park City, Utah
• Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board Award for Water Quality Conservation for advancing an integrated approach to urban watershed management (Andy received an honorable mention award as well)
• Governor’s Environmental and Economic Leadership Award for Environmental Education (California’ highest environmental honor)
